He was a great asset to the team, always giving his best, a lovely dog to live with & an easy dog to show, having that “Look at me!” attitude. On top of all that he was an excellent stud dog who hated to mate bitches if we were watching & wouldn’t bother with them if they weren’t ready.
In his old age, he and his sister became permanent house dogs - they never bothered the cat, in fact if she was in their bed, they would come and find me to get her out - all very bizarre considering they were never brought up with the cat.
When he went deaf, I would give him hand signals. Both he and his sister had total freedom of our 3 acres and never went back in a dog pen. When he saw me he would come running. A real sweet person and very sadly missed.
