“Best In Show was MacCallum’s bitch Forstal’s Noushka, a beautiful 7 yr old in splendid condition and handled superbly. Of ideal size, perfect balance with a fine head and expression, gentle steady temperament, firm well muscled body, strongly timbered, well up on her toes and a movement which gave the impression that she could do the job for which she was intended and go on doing it for hours. I had no hesitation in giving her the top spot”. |

Noushka is best described as a true aristocrat, her whole demeanor was refined and elegant. Aloof to strangers, she was unusually intelligent and obedient, so much so that I could trust her to obey every command, even to the extent of walking her to heel past livestock, or leaving her alone and untied on the trimming table at a show. Her minds workings proved something of an enigma at times, perhaps this was a legacy of her heritage. To me, Noushka was my special mate, she went everywhere with me, even to work where on occasions she provided a splendid diversion during some protracted and bloody minded negotiations. |

just loved to show off although dried liver may also have had something to do with it. Those who never knew her will not realise what an ambassador for the breed she was in those earlier times. Not for her the role of speed racer, she preferred to set her own sedate pace and was quite happy to back pack with me on the mountains where she would work all day. |
